Distance to turns omitted in spoken directions (US-Jane)

After the latest auto update, during which I saw “downloading language” progress indicator, the system is skipping distance to turns in spoken directions. Sometimes it will completely skip it, like “in turn to <street name>”, sometimes from the expected “in one point five miles turn to…” it will say “in o’ turn to…”. Like a bad case of terminal stutter.

Can you try to remove the App and reinstall to see if this fixes the issue?

Tried removing the app and reinstalling. Same crap.

The release i have is 4.3.0.1.

I’m trying to help so words such as you used are not encouraging me.

Can you specify what phone are you using?

Hagay.

iPhone 6 under 9.2.1 iOS

OK. I got some suggestions from fellow TTS experts.
The version you are running is confirmed to be working well for other users.

The experts believe that the TTS is possibly corrupted.

Please clear the TTS Cache by searching for cc@tts and then wait for the navigation voice to rebuild.

Test again and let me know if fixed.

Please try the following:

Enter cc@tts in the search bar and press return. This should reset the TTS cache.

Where do i enter “cc@tts”? In Waze Search? Appreciate your help very much.

The place where you enter the address.

Please confirm if your problem resolved.

Sorry could not get back sooner.

No, the issue persists.

I restarted the iPhone (home button+ power button); deleted waze app; re-installed it; cleared the cache (cc@tts).
There was no indication the language was reloading or anything like that; waze screens were freezing (not reacting to device rotation; “Go Now” button unresponsive), then became normal.

Spoken directions still omitting distance.

Thank you for your help.

Can you try switching to a different voice (assuming you use Jane) and let it run for a while to see if you get proper instructions with the new voice?

Tried that, with English (UK) Kate. Same thing.

THX

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you are using a Bluetooth device to receive instructions from your phone. Next time you are using Waze, turn off your Bluetooth And see if the problem goes away.

If you are using a Bluetooth, can you tell me what the model is?

@habitualoffender - Please confirm if you are using BT with Waze. If you do, try get the instructions with BT disabled and see if this works.

Indeed, I am using BT (Honda HandsFreeLink).

Will try tomorrow to disable and will report back.

FYI, it was working fine before the update.

Thank you.

Confirmed. Spoken directions work fine through the phone speaker, but not through Bluetooth.

Is there a solution?

This issue reported to Waze and I expect this to be fixed in future version.
In the meantime you will have to live with the phone speakers if you want the correct instructions.
