At least to do map edits. It has much more in the way of multi touch ability so I can see that it might be possible.
i’m just sayin’…

Supposedly you can edit in Safari now, so no reason it’s not possible for road editing. There doesn’t seem to be a gps on iPad, so you can’t use the waze client without an external gps, it would seem.
I think if I could get it to load, that i would be able to edit in Safari from my iPhone, but the entire load process is very slow. But it looks like when it loads, you could probably make an edit before having to wait for the next screen to load. I hope it’s not the same with iPad
I’ve loaded Cartouche on my iPhone, but there are a number of problems with that: there’s no Command key means no multiple selections, so no connecting or bridging or anything, and there’s no way to scroll the map that I could find. Presumably the iPad would have the same problem.
What would be really cool is an iPad-native editor. It’s kind of a niche market, so understandably it’s unlikely, but it’d be really cool!
Okay, so who’s miffed that Apple didn’t include a GPS? 9.7-inch Waze would have been awesome!
Yeah, gps, and phone capability on the GSM models…
Okay, so the iPad with 3G will have GPS, and as it will run iPhone apps, it will be able to run Waze without any modifications. If Waze draws its graphics using a vector API on the iPhone, they might not even have to make a new version for us to enjoy hi-res maps.
Else, in the meantime, we´ll have to make do with the pixel doubling. Still a 9-inch GPS is cool, right?
Now we just need some kind of specialized car-kit for the device… An iPad will not fit in my coffee-mug-holder, and it will block the view if I mount it in my front window.
I hope you didn’t get that from my comment. Sorry if that didn’t make sense without the previous one. I have not heard that the iPad will have gps or 3G phone ability.
3G in april http://www.apple.com/ipad
Assisted GPS (just like iPhone) on Wi-Fi and 3G http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
data only though, not voice. Note that the AT&T plans offered are data only plans…
Cool. That’s news. ![]()
i was thinking for map editing rather than on road use.
since the iPad is going to have moe screen and increased gestural ability i thought that could be taken advantage of to get past the iphones current limitations.
 :o :!:
, chronologically.
