Avoiding toll roads is coming soon. Personal avoid, just don’t drive on that road. Waze will reroute you.

I can’t believe Waze has been around for as long as it has and there is no “Avoid Tolls” option. However I am glad to see it coming soon. I live right off a toll road and every time I want to go anywhere and I mean ANYWHERE it wants me to jump on the toll roads even when my destination is only 1 or 2 miles away. When I jump on and off the toll road BAM it’s 2-3 dollars to travel a couple miles. Ridiculous. And I cannot even recall a GPS or navigation app that didn’t have some way of avoiding tolls. Garmin, TomTom, Google Maps, they all have a way to avoid tolls.

So I cannot wait for this feature to be released. Lets push it out asap!

Until it is implimented try using avoid highways. Waze wants you to go the fastest route, which is usually taking a highway most of your route. May I ask what city/state you live in so we can be sure your toll roads are correctly identified?

What Waze actually needs (and it the next Big Missing Feature (IMHO)), is the ability to mark a blocked road, e.g. when there has been an accident, and Waze automatically re-route you around it - no go just saying “don’t drive on that road”, when you don’t actually know the area, and how to get past it.

I’d like to this added as an option when you drop a pin on the map, so you can precisely mark a blocked road, and them have it excluded in your route calculation.
