This forum is for requesting any unlocks, closures or fixes by a higher ranked editor.

  • Include the location of your request in the “Subject:” line of your post

  • Select the [b]relevant segment/b and copy/paste the Permalink into your post. Do not submit a permalink that includes segments not visible on-screen.

  • Provide a short explanation of why you are requesting the change.

  • Indicate if you are an Area Manager for your requested segment(s), and your editing rank

  • For closure requests, please include dates, times, a brief reason to display in the client and (if you have any) online references.

Locks will be reduced to the appropriate level, based on the rank of the requester.

Note that a higher level editor may choose to fix the problem themselves so higher value segments will remain protected at their level.

Don’t forget to mark it as solved when it’s done (green tick), and thank the person who helped.

For all editors making requests: please make sure you have the “live users” layer enabled when you make a permalink for a request.

For all editors responding to requests: make sure you have “live users” enabled and that you are not “invisible”.

If can be frustrating to respond to a request, taking time maybe to check details, only to have a WME error when you hit “save” and to discover you’ve just duplicated the effort of another responding editor!

Or, better still, remove &layers=xxx from the URL, so that anyone who opens it gets to keep their preferred layers; e.g. live users on and editable area off.
