Record path for instant review. Possible?

Hello guys,
I would like to find out, whether it’s possible to record my driving trip, path, and view it instantly in WAZE?

I’m going to a new place far from home, there are lots of changes, some roads are now closed, new one open. Many of these changes are not up to date on WAZE, so during my last trip, while sending my kids off, I got lost in the middle of the night. Just couldn’t find my way out, and WAZE insisted on directing me to exits no longer in service.
I don’t mean to go all drama, but it is very stressful, driving in dark, in the middle of no where, on very narrow roads, trying to make u-turn with my mini bus, upon reaching a dead end.

This time I follow someone, but the person will stay there, while myself take the kids of go home. I would love to keep that path I use to instantly utilize it as my way back out of there.

Is it possible with Waze ?

Thanks you for taking the time to read,
best regards

Seba

Your drives are not available with in the Waze app but they are available online inside the map editor. Typically, your drive is processed within just a few hours or less. So you can go online and review your drive relatively quickly, but not instantly. There is some processing which is required before the drive will be posted.

Waze doesn’t allow you to specify any kind of custom routing, at least not at this time. It is designed to find the optimal route based on road historical data and current traffic conditions. But it sounds like there are some errors in a map which need to be corrected. You can use your drive information in the editor to go onto the map and see if there are any errors to correct such as the roads not in service.

Thanks for the answer. It clears things up. I will have few hours there so perhaps I will, as you have suggested, get acquainted with the map editor.

Appreciate your prompt reply!

Thank you very much once again.

Related Q,
will we able to edit our drives. I know we can see them, but it would be nice to edit.
I think, we were in the past…

If one could “edit” where you actually drove, then the Waze history data would be worthless. We could then just make up anything we want and say we drove across the country every day. I see no purpose to this, and only bad things.

We have never been able to edit a drive.

I guess, it would’ve been useful in areas where there is no base-map, like some of the new communities in overseas. But, I also got you point too.

You can draw new roads in the editor over the drives and GPS tracks. That’s how it gets done.
