Reason: this stretch from the intersection of Third Ave through ~17 Best Road is a divided road. There’s also a note over the road about the speed limit - I can confirm that despite what Street View shows, the entire road is now 50km/h from one end to the other, no part of it is 60km/h anymore.

I’ve fixed the segment that was incorrectly marked as 60km/h.
I’m not certain this area should be divided. There is a gap in the division at the RSL club entrance so dividing that segment is pretty pointless. As for the other part, from Street View (and my last recollection of driving there) the division for part of the road is flat/painted only, which means it shouldn’t be divided (per https://www.waze.com/wiki/Australia/Dividing_roads#When_to_divide_a_road and https://www.waze.com/wiki/Australia/Dividing_roads#When_not_to_divide_a_road). Or has a physical barrier been added along the median for the entire road?

About 50% of it has a concrete divider and the other 50% is painted. It’s similar to the stretch of Parramatta Rd between Kihilla Rd and James Ruse Dr which is roughly 50% divided by concrete and 50% not (in some cases Parramatta Rd just has a regular double white line but has been fully divided on the map).
Generally we don’t like to have roads switching between divided and undivided repeatedly unless it’s necessary/useful, as it’s distracting for drivers and more complex for editing. In the case of Parramatta Rd it has heavy traffic, few if any options for U-turns and isn’t easy to cross so a bias towards dividing makes sense in the context. In the case of Best Rd which has much less traffic, more roundabouts and other U-turn opportunities and is generally easier to walk across if you’re on the wrong side, we’d bias more towards undivided in the case of a 50-50 situation.
As you can see from the wiki, editing can become a balancing act between competing priorities; sometimes even the core principles of Usability, Representative of Reality and Simplicity might seem to point to different outcomes - so context is important, not just blindly following a rule/definition. The aim is to best meet (and balance) the needs of the different Waze users, but that doesn’t mean that “the customer is always right” because different customers might have different, conflicting needs.
Looking at Best Rd at present, I think https://waze.com/en-AU/editor?env=row&lat=-33.77941&lon=150.93929&marker=true&zoomLevel=19&segments=270952387,397829271 shouldn’t be divided (especially given the median turning lane). I think it was done early on in the new mapping era, when we were still building and calibrating to the new standards; there was a fair bit of work at that time that we did then later undid (particularly adding slip lanes that were later removed as unnecessary and unhelpful for lane guidance).
I’ve unlocked those segments, would you like to undivide them?
